Very good value

Comments:

I got a set of Weiss cymbals with my purchase of a Gretsch Catalina shell kit 18-14-10-14x5. I was shocked at how good the cymbals sound. Definitely better than, say, B8's. I used them on my very next gig. My drummer buddy who plays guitar in that band noticed them straight away and thought I'd spent about $600 on a new set of cymbals. I highly recommend these for any drummer, as your prime cymbals, or to add great sound colors to your Zildjians or Sabians.

Cymbal Pack

Comments:

This pack is a phenomenal value and they contrast in sound so much from the cymbals I had before. They are awesome!

Incredible Credible Value

Comments:

Can't say enough about this cymbal pack. Very bright, nice sustain, clean crisp. These cymbals could be double the price and more than worth it. Ordering the 18" today. With the 18" great complete pack. I ordered the Paiste ZBT 3 last year for a practice kit. Decent set for the money. A lot of cymbals for the money, but this pack blows them away. $299.00 for Paiste set, $375.00 for the Weiss pack cymbal for cymbals 20", 18", 16", 10" and 14" hats. Order this pack for the money you cant go wrong. Order them you won't be sorry! Great Job Steve!

Steve Weiss Trad. Cast Cymbal Pack

Comments:

Big BANG for the buck! I had them for a couple of years now, and they are great. The pack is worth it just for the 16" & 18" and Hi Hats alone. I bought the 18" first just to see what I was in for. After I heard it I went ahead and got the pack. . . . . . .Not a bit sorry!

Excellent Service - Excellent Products

Comments:

The Weiss traditional cast cymbal pack was an excellent choice for our small church music team drum set. We didn't need "stage/recording" quality cymbals, so these were an excellent choice well within our budget. Thanks Steve Weiss Music!

Can't go wrong with this cymbal pack

Comments:

I saw these cymbals at the PASIC booth and was very impressed for the quality regardless of the price. They are versatile and an excellent choice for adding to drum set shell packs. The splash and high hats are my favorite but the crash and ride are not far behind. The included cymbal bag is very nice and has an outside pocket for the high hats and splash. I even have a friend who bought two of the crash cymbals to use as hand cymbals.

Pleasantly Surprised

Comments:

Ok....so when I first got the cymbals in the mail, I tried them out alone and HATED THEM. I packed them back up and was ready to ship them back. HOWEVER, I thought to myself...."maybe I should play them with the entire kit and ensemble to see how they sound". Hence the title of this post, I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. I don't know if the cymbals needed to warm up or what but I love these cymbals. The ride is great for Jazz style playing, I had to warm up to the 16" crash (but I've found that it sounds better on a cymbal stand WITHOUT the boom. You hear and feel too much vibration with a boom cymbal stand for my liking), the hats are cool (nothing to brag about), the splash is BY FAR MY FAVORITE CYMBAL!! It has a dry, Chinese sound to it. So it's great with rhythmic accents. The demo video does the cymbals justice. Also, I ordered the 18" Weiss cymbal to complete the package and that's my favorite crash, of the 16 & 18. I typically don't use 18" crash cymbals because they're too heavy and the sound doesn't spread enough, but again I was pleasantly surprised. I use these cymbals at church, in the pit for plays, and on jazz sets. I'm an orchestral percussionist as well so I've rolled the 16 and 18 with yarn mallets and they sound great! The 18 is my favorite for this type of roll (has a nice broad/robust sound), but the 16 is nice as well. If you can get past the newness of the cymbals, once broken in these cymbals are AWESOME! I HIGHLY recommend them!

WOW

Comments:

Best cymbal pack under $500 on the market, regardless of brand. Not a crappy cymbal the set and a free nice cymbal bag to go with it. I have had students get these, I myself have several from this set before it was released as a set. Glad to see SWM pick these up. No, their not Custom Vintage, Vaults, Signatures or either of the great Turkish cymbals, they are just the best deal period. You will agree if you give them a try,

Great cymbals for the money!

Comments:

I bought these to go with a Catalina Club jazz kit that I occasionally use with a big band. I tried out the set of cymbals in a couple of rehearsals and was generally pleasantly surprised. The ride isn't bad, the crash and splash are quite nice, and the hi-hats are better for a rock setting than a jazz one. Overall, I can use them in several settings and (according to my son) sound better with that kit than the A Zlidjian/Sabian/Paiste mix I currently use.

Absolutely Phenomenal!

Comments:

I don't own these cymbals so I can't speak to their durability, but I got to test these out at a music education conference and I couldn't believe my ears. It took everything I had not to buy the floor demo ride cymbal right there (though I believe I'll be getting one soon anyway). Everyone, not just those on a budget, need to know about these cymbals. I'm a jazz drummer and a ride cymbal snob and I would recommend these to anyone willing to give them a chance. They're very versatile cymbals as far as their overall sound and would work fantastically in both jazz, rock, or funk. Their tone lies somewhere between As and Ks with the hammering and lathing. If you're looking for cymbals to buy as a set, forget everything else, especially B8 bronze (these appear to be B20, or something indistinguishably similar). Nothing else can touch these cymbals for this price.
