I love these sticks, they hold up well. But mainly I'm leaving this comment so I know that these are the sticks I use. So uhh, Chrisitian, these are them.

Great sticks, hefty price

Comments:

I love these sticks, they feel great in your hands and have great quality sound. But that price is a bit too much... especially for a program with limited funding.

Great Sticks!

Comments:

These sticks feel and sound great! They're the best feeling and sounding tenor sticks I've ever used. I am a quad player in a high school drumline. Our show sticks are currently MTS1s, which I personally dislike. I will always prefer unpainted sticks, as when your hands get sweaty they get very slippery. I bought these as practice sticks so I wouldn't destroy the show sticks. The first time I brought these to a practice, our drumline instructor stopped practice to ask about them. He picked them up and played with them. He immediately remarked on how good they felt and how they made the drums sound even better. The rebound on these are AMAZING!! These have been made our show stick and that's unlikely to change anytime soon.

Tenor sticks/Steve Weiss

Comments:

I always get exactly what I order, it's always in stock and I get it FAST which is great because my student doesn't tell me he needs them until last minute! I'll be a loyal Steve Weiss customer because of great customer service.

Vic Firth's Best Tenor Stick

Comments:

I was excited to try out these sticks when I saw the promotional video with John Mapes. He explained that "...First and foremost, we wanted to make sure the stick just felt good to play with." And without a doubt, they feel great. Weighted slightly towards the front, a medium-sized, hard bead, and great response off the drum. Quality of sound is also great with these. These sticks should have no problem becoming Vic Firth's most popular tenor stick, replacing the Vega (er, I mean the MTS1) as the stick of choice. I recommend pairing these with the Innovative Percussion Paul Rennick Tenor Stick to get maximum range of sound for a minimal price. The Rennicks will give you extreme quality and volume on bigger passages, and the latex sleeve will give you a puff-like, softer sound. The Mapes can be used for passages that require more demand, such as fast sweeps and extremely fast rolls, that the Rennick is a bit too heavy for. Overall, great stick from a quality manufacturer. It's been a great year for tenor drummers!
