Challenge

Comments:

Simply put... this piece is HARD and not for the beginner. I would place it as an intermediate-advanced piece. It has a lot of difficult techniques and permutations that are good for advanced players but is still an accessible challenge for the dedicated intermediate. You will come away from playing this piece a better marimbist and musician.

Hard but enjoyable

Comments:

This piece is fairly hard and is written for a 4-octave marimba, so it is perfect for an medium-advanced student without easy access to a 5-octave marimba. The difficulty the second dance is its speed. Although it is a hard read, the rhythms are not too hard to learn but getting up to speed takes work.

An Awesome Song

Comments:

This is a great piece of music. Gordon Stout is a genius, as well as a master of Marimba. You must be up for a challenge if you want to play this. The first movement is almost impossible to play perfectly, but its fun to try. This piece is worth it.
