weiss 27" china cymbal

Weiss 27" China Cymbal

Weiss 27" china cymbal is hand-made in Wuhan China and produces an explosive and trashy, authentic sound. This is the largest china cymbal available and sounds like a monster! The amount of detail invloved in making this china cymbal is far greater...

GO BIG OR GO HOME

Comments:

I almost bought the 24 inch. It is nearly as big but $100 or so less. I went to order but they were out of stock. I just decided to bite the bullet and get it. If you look at the price of Wuhan, you get a lot for your money. These are priced better. It is a little cumbersome to transport due to size and dimension. I have a small kit and this cymbal about dwarfs it. The sound is powerful. It sounds like lightning striking next to you, and the metal shines like the sun. I had to widen the hole to fit my stand. Other than that, awesome purchase!

HUGE sound

Comments:

This thing sounds as massive as the dimensions suggest, and is surprisingly versatile for such a large, heavy cymbal. I absolutely BASHED on it for a show, to the point where my forearms were sore for days, and it seemed poised to handle the abuse for a long time to come. Thumbs up!

This thing is hilarious

Comments:

a 27" cymbal for $179? Heck yeah. It's loud and clear and brash and it's everything you'd expect a 27" china to be. It's also effing huge, so it's not going to fit in your cymbal bag.

Wuhan 27 China

Comments:

Actually the one I received from Steve Weiss was 27.5 inches of monster china sound. What a beast. I have several china cymbals in my setup and absolutely love this cymbal. It is the extreme end of the "trashy" sound and makes it's presence known even in high volume music. The price at Steve Weiss is fantastic, and if you like the china sound you will love this huge cymbal.

Bullwhip in a tile room

Comments:

This thing is brutal, sick, and has sustaiiiiin. I love it. Great for accents and you can ride on it for a very Can-esque sound. A+++

A beast to say the least

Comments:

It's monolithic...breakdowns with it are fantastic. Only problem was I received a warped cymbal, but it only seems to add to the huge sound it gives off. People's eyes when they see the cymbal are just priceless. I suggest this cymbal, but I'm disappointed with the warp in the cymbal.

Bargain Monster

Comments:

I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with this purchase. I too was wary of purchasing a cymbal sight unseen, but this thing is very well made, and at a price I couldn't resist. I was afraid that it would sound like a trash can lid, but figured that it would be worth a shot for 99 bucks. I was glad I took the chance. You can get all sorts of sounds out of this thing! The crash is like any other good-quality China, trashy and low, but still bright and with just the right amount of sustain. Take a pair of mallets to this thing and you can get swells that shake the rafters! This cymbal makes a great and unique sounding ride as well. Don't think, just get one!

I've got one.

Comments:

It's great! It's like a gong, but more versatile...more riding and crashing options. I was worried about buying a chinese cymbal without hearing it first, as no two sound alike and any stack I've ever pored through had several clunkers, but Steve Weiss sent me a great one. I haven't had the same luck buying chinese-made cymbals sound unheard from musiciansfriend.com...that's definitely a gamble. Anyway, I use mine mostly when my band slips into ambient mode...the suspended cymbal rolls sound amazing and can go from whispers to rattling people's chests.
