This is my second 18 inch Weiss Roto Tom. Again excellent deal being that Remo stopped making sizes bigger than 10 inch many years ago. No issues just replaced stock head with remo clear black dot. Awesome

This is the 5th Weiss Roto-Tom I have Purchased. They are well built and have great tone. Only a minor problem with tension rods and paint on the flanges , knocked the rating to a 4. Both easily corrected. Stock head replaced with Remo Pinstripe. This makes 8 Roto's in my set. Have been adding them to my kits since 1974. I want to thank Steve Weiss Music for keeping these drums ALIVE ! More than the great inventory, the Best Reason to shop Steve Weiss Music is the people who work there. THANK YOU JT BEAVER !!

I recently purchased the full set of Steve Weiss Roto-Toms, ranging from 6" to 18" (6", 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", 18"), and I'm thrilled to finally complete my drum collection with these versatile drums. I'm glad there are still options available for buying new Roto-Toms, and the quality of this set does not disappoint. The Roto-Toms themselves are well-constructed and have a solid feel. The unique, open design allows for bright, cutting tones with a lot of tuning flexibility. They're perfect for adding melodic elements to my setup, and I love the tonal possibilities they bring. However, one thing to note is that they seem to be more sensitive to room temperature changes than traditional drumheads. I find that I have to tweak and fine-tune the tension fairly often to maintain the sound I want. It's a small inconvenience, but it's worth it for the distinctive sound that only Roto-Toms can offer. The stands and mounting hardware that came with the set are decent, but I do wish they were a bit sturdier. They hold the drums securely, but a slightly more robust design would provide greater stability. Because of this, I'm looking into mounting them onto a drum rack system, which I believe will be a more solid and practical solution.

Wow, this thing is cool! I mounted it to the left of my hi hat, tuned it high for some fun tympani patterns with mallets and then rumbly and low for some freaky Bruford patterns against a backbeat, The fun is never ending! The cast iron spokes are fun to clang on as well-- a multi-use oddity! Huzzah!

Yes, I LOVE my 18" roto-tom. It works and sounds like 6,8,10, 12,14,16 inch rototoms that I've had since the late 70's But Kinda dislike the stand. The original type stands for a single roto-tom has a square steel block attached directly to the pivot point of the stand. Then the threaded rod goes through the steel block and that allows the roto-tom to go down to average floor tom height. This new stand at its lowest setting places roto-tom high enough to play while standing up.

Very nice and glad you offered this larger size, because I bought your 16" and the larger roto toms are hard to find. Price was reasonable also compared to others, even used. Now I have complete set 6" to 18".

First off let's start by saying It's so very hard to find bigger roto toms. The quality and price of the weiss roto toms to me is excellent . You can ad any head you feel suits your needs like anything. But again just to find the sizes they offer at the price range is incredible . I am going to own them all eventually . Absolutely love these toms
