Gong Bass Support

Comments:

Think outside the box. Bought 3 protectors, drilled chrome cross-members and bolted them to L brackets and then clamped those to 1" square steel tubes. Tightened them onto my bass drum bottom hoop. Instant, secure, gong bass support system :-) https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=7399738713389861 https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=7399738813389851

Good product that will protect your bass drum hoop

Comments:

These attach easily and securely, and provide a place for the bass drum player to play "clicks" without damaging the instrument. One of my first years of teaching I learned the hard way that a bass drum hoop can go from great condition to "needing replacement' in a single season. A student doesn't have to be malicious to damage the hoop - just asking them to play on the rim on a regular basis will quickly eat away at wooden hoops.

GREAT

Comments:

Bought these to go with our new 4 Pearl Competition BD's we bought from SW. Fit great, sound great. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews on here. They are not designed for a drumset bass drum or an accessory holder. Why give a negative review for something other than its intended for? Great price vs. name brand, and with a thumb nail, you can take off the sticker that says made in taiwan.

Hoop Protector

Comments:

So far, so good. Works like the "name brand" but so much better on your pocket book/school funds!

Sounds good; doesn't fit drum set BD

Comments:

The hoop protector sounds good, but doesn't work like I hoped. I was hoping to use it on a drum set bass drum for a multiple percussion piece. Unfortunately it doesn't fit my Pearl bass drum hoop very well.

better than nothing?

Comments:

These things are awkward on the drum, and they sound pretty cheap when you hit them. I can't actually use them on a marching drum, but they do come in handy if I want to hit the rims on a stationary concert bass drum. Still though, there are better versions of this idea, such as the Yamaha Hoop Protector. That product also has some problems but it's better than these.
