These mallets sound amazing, they are definitely a must have for any xylophonist (I personally use them for rags). My one complaint is that they're too light.

Finally bought my first pair of xylo mallets in college, very nice choice. Sounds good in a very wide range, nice balance and feel. Not too bright but still got a little zing to them. Would recommend for anyone starting to build their mallet collection :)

These mallets are great and I would buy them again. The only thing that may throw some people off is that the mallet shaft is slimmer compared to other mallets such as the Ip902.

Where Have You Been All My Life?

I really wish I knew about these mallets long ago! It might seem weird to attribute a pair of mallets to being a better player, but this is what I'm experiencing with these mallets. I'm hitting the notes better and my playing feels more nimble. This is especially great and conducive to going through the George Hamilton Green book. My hands don't get as tired and I'm also noticing the shock absorption of the rattan handles. This is especially noticeable when I switch to a birch-handled mallet and compare. When I play with birch, my hands have to work twice as hard. This is really a testament to choosing the right mallet for the job and let the mallet do the work. The attack is kind of sharp for my practice room but I wear headphones for my metronome so they sound great with the headphones. I don't mind the skinnier shaft, but I gave pretty small hands. I wish they made a softer attack ball with the same handle for practice. It seems like the other mallets in the BB series have thicker handles. I think I'm going to also try Innovative OS1 to swap out between the BB34s. I love the BB34s, though, and will never give them up!

I havent actually got them yet, but the reviews seem promising. They were highly praised by my director, so I figured i should get them. After looking for cheaper alternatives and ultimately buying the wrong mallets, I figured I was meant to just get these.
There are some complaints about it being too light and thin. However, I was ecstatic hearing this because I have smaller and sleeker hands. Light, thin mallets are ideal for four mallet, and it would be a nice change from the heavy and thick mallets i usually have to use.

Ultimate Xylo Mallets

After trying a variety of other xylo mallets, I always seem to end up coming back to these. They're perfect for most situations and playing requirements. They're lightweight, allowing for quick, agile movements on the instrument. Every player should have at least two sets of these. The tone they produce is excellent, clear and bright articulation, perfect for orchestral excerpts and solo works.

These mallets sounds great on the xylophone. However, they feel awkward at first because they're a bit top heavy. But after playing them for a while, I started to get accustomed to their feel. They are useful for rags because they offer maneuverability around the keyboard.

Best xylophone mallets I've ever used. So freaking light... The rattan feels so good in your hands when playing xylophone. Pretty big heads, but not too big. They are a hard plastic head that gives a very nice sound for any solo xylophone or music where you need to project. They project, but there isn't too much ear piercing contact noise. My favorite and always my go to mallets.

I go to Ithaca College and everyone owns these mallets. There's no doubt as to why. Perfect for those rosewood xylos especially Bob Becker models. Only thing to be aware of is they are not the greatest for playing Porgy and Bess. Nevertheless their light weight makes them easy to quickly move around any instrument.

They were great until I used them in a performance. Both heads came off the shaft. Good thing I had my handy dandy 30 year old Deagsn's handy. I have never had this happen. These mallets are too expensive to fail on first use.

Malletech needs to make these types of mallets more often. Nice round tone and great for solos. If you're buying your first set of xylophone mallets, you should definitely get these. Words can't describe how I feel about the them!

The Standard Xylophone Mallet

This Mallet has become the standard for xylophone playing. Every serious percussionist should own a pair of these mallets. They produce excellent sound quality that all conductors love. However, for me the mallets are a little too light and the handles are a little too thin, but these issues are just personal preferences and fall into the shadow of these mallets great sound quality.

These are good all-around sticks for xylophone playing that will not disappoint in any category of playing. They can fly, maybe too fast - maybe a little too light, but even so, any lick or run on the xylo is made a lot easier with these sticks. A nice clear sound with them too - loud enough to be heard in the band, but not that ear-piercing kind of sound.
