light - fast - awesome

Been using these for many years for warm-ups and practice. Very well-balanced and lighter than, say, the Tom Float sticks.

Awful sticks

Comments:

I am on the snare line in the U of Illinois marching Illini drum and ordered two pairs of these sticks as backups for sticks we already receive directly from Vic firth. Both pairs I received were quite lighter than the ones directly from Vic firth, seemed completely hollow, had a strange bounce off the drum and split after a week of playing. Absolutely horrible quality wood. Two pairs exactly the same

Solid Stick

Comments:

Our drumline has used Ralph Hardimon's for at least the past seven years. Never was a fan of the new paint coating, but they have a good feel and produce a good sound for our needs. The older members of our line will go through two or three pairs a season.

Comments:

Probably the best sticks used for practicing. Practicing. When playing on a drum they tend to wear away faster than most sticks I've used(not that it costs a lot to replace them) However the sound from these sticks is incomparable, they sound amazing. Not too deep, not too light, but are great! Would definitely recommend getting these in your arsenal!

Okay sticks

Comments:

These sticks have great balance, good rebound, and great feel. The big problem with them is you need 3-5 pairs to last you a season depending how much you practice. They break easily and the wood chips away easily causing the sound and weights to differ. Personally, I prefer Innovative Percussion's Jim Casella marching sticks and that's what I'd recommend.

Decent

Comments:

These sticks have a nice look. But they're too light and they break too easily. They also have no type of grip whatsoever. After three years of marching with these sticks, I decided to use the Vic Firth MS2s. I like these for practice on my pad at home, but not for long-term use on a drum.

Good Sticks

Comments:

Honestly i love these sticks. I dont see how they break easily, considering our 3rd snare plays them all time with minimal tape on the stick at FFF volume. They seem to be stronger with tape and I recommend them from Beginners to pro's.

Awesome Snare Stick

Comments:

These sticks are light (but not too light!) and produce a nice tone. They have the perfect amount of rebound and make stick heights easily visible. These sticks MUST be taped, because they will start to splinter easily, but as long as they are taped they should last as long as any other set of drumsticks. These were a great investment for my drumline and have improved the way we play this season.

Pretty good

Comments:

Best stick I've found, and I've marched snare drum for many years. I marched with the fighting Irish and these are always my stick of choice. The only thing that I've found that disappoint me is that they break A LOT. I probably go through almost 10 pairs over 13-15 games. That is way to many sticks. Pros: Great stick, amazing rebound, fantastic feel/sound, decent price Con: NO durability, make sure you have a lot on hand. I'd recommend them to anyone from kids all the way up to pros.

Ralph Hardimon

Comments:

I marched at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La(1991-96). The first 2 years we marched Coopermans(Marty Hurley), he is truly missed. We started using Ralph Hardimon's at Northwestern in 1993, and to this day that is the stick of choice. I got some Hardimon's in Little Rock, AR from Guitar Center that were a Cream color and were slicker. I don't know if that was style of Hardimon's that were available or if they just didn't get the correct ones. The 2 pairs of Hardimons I got from Steve Weiss are just as I remembered, snowy white, that feel great and have great balance!!!

Comments:

They're okay, I guess. I got a pair, and within two weeks they were already starting to break. I'm not sure if it's just how rough I play, but the stability of the sticks could be improved. But it does create a bright sound when playing.

Great rebound

Comments:

These sticks have great rebound from the long taper and unique barrel tip and are very consistent, everybody's sounded the same. And yes these also break quite easily but even so they are loud and great for high school drumlines to professionals.

Great Sticks for the Price

Comments:

Great sticks, but they do break pretty easily. Good weight and good sound if you don't tape them all the way to the bead. Only reason they didn't get five stars is because they break too easily, but for the price, they are definitely worth it.

They say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". That is certainly the case with the SRH. This one of Vic's first signature corps sticks and its obvious why they have been around for so long. These are among the most consistent sticks being manufactured today. Great weight, taper and bead shape. I submit that anyone who "Breaks these while playing medium volume" is out there hacking and playing with a serious lack of technique and probably has a very poor approach to the drum. However, Breaking sticks is just part of drumming! We take inanimate objects and strike them repeatedly on other inanimate objects! And yes, the manufacturing process allows for any stick these days to have a few defects. I have been playing with these and many other sticks over the years while I have always found a "dud" pair or two here and there, these are far more consistent than many of the other brands. I love a lot of the sticks that are coming out for snare drum. Very exciting with all of the different variety that's out there. But for the money, and for the proven levels of variety and consistency, I chose firth. x

Comments:

This sticks do give a great sound and rebound, but I have found that they do break pretty easily. I had them taped all the way up, and after just one practice of molar-stroke rim shots, they break in half. They are very good sticks, but not my first pick.

To tell the truth these sticks have cost me $60. Im in the Moorefield drumline and here we play PFL! These sticks cannot handle rimshots or anything. So far my band teacher has bought like six pairs of them and i have broken every one of them. And while doing so i was only playing at a medium volume. I highly recommend not buying these things.
