Classic old sound effect lives!

Try to find one of these on ebay or other sources of used instruments! The vintage ones, many in disrepair, go for over $100.! Was I surprised and delighted to find that Steve Weiss has these new, and at a great price! Granted, a marching men sound effect is a limited use item (and this effect lives and dies on what you are playing it against, and how you play it), but the fact that such items as this are still being made for us percussionists who have to fight off the synthesized sounds of today, is a great victory! Thanks, SWM!

We purchased the "Imperial Walker" marching machine and put it to work in a symphonic band program themed on "Bugs". It was a hit in the piece we needed it for. School children came back to check it out afterward. Great sound, sturdily built, reasonably priced.

I play in a lot of musical theater settings, so I'm constantly getting requests for different types of sound effects. This one was a great addition to my collection! A friend of mine recently purchased one and was blown away by both the sound and the low price. After getting mine, I know exactly what he was talking about. This is a great sound effect that can be used for many different musical situations.
