Really good stick

Comments:

I guess I got a fantastic pair I think these might be the best sticks that Vic firth, maybe the mike Jacksons but whatever. These are really good and if you are on the fence you should still buy them.

Great for tenors

Comments:

I specified that I wanted a pair on the heavier end and they delivered! Great feel - work well on tenor practice pad and the tenors.

McNutt sticks are awesome!

Comments:

These sticks are perfect for our street marching band. Well-balanced, lightweight for even our smallest snare players. We will continue to purchase this model because of the craftsmanship: all three sets were 6 individual, exact precision, matching sticks.

Light pair

Comments:

I have been buying here for three years now and almost always get a great product, but the last couple of sticks I have bought were very light pairs that do not reflect the sticks full potential. I love this stick but feel the staff should check the weight of the stick before sending them out to make sure we get a good product.

Steve Weiss Music Response:

There is no "good" weight when referring to drum sticks. Some customers prefer light sticks, some prefer heavy. If the sticks fall within Vic Firth's tolerance for a specific model, we treat them as A quality product. If you do not specify what weight of sticks you want, we do not make that decision for you.

One of my favorite sticks, but...

Comments:

McNutt's are some of my favorite sticks, but almost all of the sticks I ordered in bulk were dead. I bought 6 pair, and 4 were dead. Contacted Vic, got them replaced, but just something to keep in mind. That aside, the tone and touch from these sticks are great. When Colin designed the stick, he wanted strong, but controllable rebound at all dynamic levels, and this stick provides that. A dark yet articulate sound can be achieved at all dynamics as well. Great design and product development, but quality control needs some work.

Wonderful sticks, as long as you get a good pair.

Nice...

Comments:

Large, but light...nice rebound. Basically what everyone else has said, although I think the comment before means "It's light, and provides great rebound", not "but provides rebound". Makes more sense that way.

Sorry...

Comments:

I meant they're light, but still provide the rebound...I messed up and wrote heavy, but they aren't.

It Depends On What You Like...

Comments:

While I personally wouldn't put these sticks in the category with some of the Innovative models (Casella, Rennick) and the Hardimons, I will say they are very well-crafted and the sound is superb. It's heavy, but provides (like the description says) excellent rebound. However, that being said, the feel of the stick is not as comfortable for me as, say, the Hardimons or even the Aungst snare sticks.

Mcnutt

Comments:

I bet that there are sticks of better quality, but the ones I received were not good. From a stick perspective I feel like these are skinny. I do not mind it, but I would rather the stick feel more like a marching stick in stead of a large set stick. I play tenors so it may be different for snare. I also feel like the sticks could feel more balanced. From a quality perspective, the sticks I received were very poor. At the corps camp I attended one stick snapped in half. This was basically only after a DAY of work on a drum. Like I said, I bet that you can find a good pair, but since I did not, I gave the sticks a lower score

Great stick

Comments:

One of the best sticks to create a big sound out of a drum. Really gives the balance between a light, yet large stick.
