These mufflers seem to be very durable but relatively light. The stitching utilized on the mufflers seems uniform and has held up quite well for several years to date. The suspension/loop cord also seems quite durable and is of sufficient length to loop around attachments on timpani without manifesting excessive slack on the cord itself. Their "charcoal" color does lend them a neutral quality that is finally quite appropriate to the concert hall. In my humble opinion, these mufflers are a fine product and I strongly recommend them for purchase.

Muffling the music
Comments:
This is my second purchase of these mufflers. Very fair price. Shipped quickly.
Could they be softer? Yes, they could. Would have given a 5 star if a bit softer.

a fine product
Comments:
These mufflers serve very well and are a good value for the price. The design (the muffler material and the stitching work) is solid and the "charcoal" grey color is an appropriately neutral color choice. I particularly like the length of the suspension cord.

Just what I was looking for
Comments:
I've looked for timpani mufflers for 45 years and have not found decent ones until now. Couldn't reproduce them for the price.

Weiss Brand Timpani Mufflers
Comments:
Large felt disks, ends are sewn not just glued, long cord to place dampening disk just about anywhere on drum head. If you are buying mufflers instead of making them, this is a excellent product.

Have been looking for this product unsuccessfully for some time. This one does the job. Could use a bit of weight.

Good mufflers, great price!
Comments:
I got these timp. mufflers for the high school I teach at, and they work great; 6 months later I bought another set for the middle school my wife teaches at. Sturdy construction, easy to take on/off if you need to (for scholastic festival performances, for example), and they let the drums have just enough characteristic tone so they don't sound too dead, but sufficiently muffled for staccato articulation

Timp mufflers should do the trick
Comments:
Shipped very quickly - thank you for that. Seem to be fine with a little weight to them. A little stiffer than I had hoped they would be. Hopefully they don't make too much "noise" when placed on the head.

No complaints
Comments:
I don't know much about percussion, but my brother, who's majoring in symphonic percussion, loved them, so I have no complaints.

You Get What you Pay For
Comments:
For the price you pay in comparison to the Adams brand mutes, these are great! I love mine. I am using them for the 8th movement of Carter's Eight Pieces for Four Timpani. These mutes do the trick. The only downside is that they're on the lighter side and unfortunately, the more playing you do on the muted drum, the felt leaves a bit of residue (very small fuzzy particles) and you have to dust the drum off afterwards. However, they do the trick. I remedied the weight problem with a knife, a couple of very heavy washers, and a small bit of gorilla glue. I cut open the side of the mute along the seam where they put the top and bottom together (no it wasn't sewn), inserted a few washers into the middle of the mute, squirted a little glue into the middle over the washers and again on the seam to create the seal and now they work like a charm. I just don't have the money for the Adams right now. So whether you're a college student with no money in your pocket, a high school student just trying to experiment more with timpani, or a band director trying to stay on budget, I would recommend these.
