Nightingale bird call

Comments:

Works great, easy to use, loud enough to use with a large ensemble.

Standard

Comments:

No leaks, warbles. I would like to see some way to attached the screw and washer so that they won't get lost, but other than that, it works well.

A Fun sound

Comments:

I'm using this in my band when we play "Groovin". It has a good authentic sound as you hear on the recordings of this song. It took a little while to obtain the sound I wanted though. It isn't difficult, just new for me. This is a well made device that I'm sure will last for years.

Acme Nightingale Bird Call Review

Comments:

This product was not exactly what I was expecting when I placed the order, but it ended up working out for what we needed on that particular holiday song. However, the turnaround time from order to delivery was very nice. I am very pleased with the arrival condition and time of any item that I have ordered from Steve Weiss Music.

Nightengale Call

Comments:

Takes a little 'getting used to.' Pitch is controlled by the amount of water installed. Tongueing can provide a wide variety of calls. Recommended.

Bird calls will be needed

Comments:

Basic bird "noise" comes easily; instructions advise on more complex calling. Bird "trills" take some practice (at least for this user), with the volume of water/liquid required in the chamber a matter of some experimenting. Sound clarity is superb, as is the compact design.

Toy Symphony Accessory

Comments:

Provides the warbling tweet that I hear in Toy Symphony recordings. Works fine if you add the right amount of water (determine through trial and error) and blow firmly, steadily, but not too hard. Made in England with nice metal top and plastic base.

bird call

Comments:

While this doesn't sound like any nightingale I've heard, it does produce some very convincing bird sounds. You can affect the sound by changing the amount of water as well as by how you play it. This is probably the best bird whistle I've heard.

Great Fun, I never travel without it

Comments:

I originally heard this for many, many years by the now dead percussionist extraordinaire, Rob Fried for the band Max Creek. Very surreal when listening on archive.org Once I found out this was the exact model, I ordered it. It says to fill it up 1/4 of the way, but since it doesn't come apart, you need to measure with tablespoons. (It fits 2 tablespoons, btw). You'll eventually add more water and less to find deeper tones. I like to bring it on DJ Nite and jam away with different rhythms and tweets to practice as you need to manipulate your breath, lips, air flow and tongue. Real fun, esp when it's mic'd.
