The following lists outline the required materials for applied percussion study at Oakland University. Every effort has been made to recommend affordable options without sacrificing quality, though students are welcome to explore higher-end alternatives.

These lists represent minimum requirements; additional materials will likely be necessary depending on repertoire in applied lessons and ensemble settings. Any stick or mallet substitutions MUST be approved by Dr. Lamb.

A separate list of method books commonly used throughout a student’s four years is also provided. These do not need to be purchased all at once and may be acquired as needed over the course of study.
