These ultra hard mallets are perfect for fast technical tympani passages that require extreme articulation. Longer than normal to prevent over reaching and light enough to provide a full sound without adding extra weight.

Good mallets; you can get a surprisingly big sound from something so light-weight.

These sticks are too light to play loudly. The pair I recieved was imbalanced, and you can actually see inside the mallet (the bamboo is hollow) that one is thicker than the other. The "bead" itself is decent, but again, the hollow and lightly weighted shaft makes me nervous to really play out.

Excellent balance! Tympani mallets don't come better than this. Shy away from these mallets for solos, excerpts, or passages that require the player to use the butt end of the stick excessively, that end is rather delicate to be coming in frequent contact with the head. The delicate handle does not in any way diminish the usefulness or durability of the mallet for normal playing, in fact, it's lightness makes it an extremely useful mallet for french grip playing. I strongly recommend these mallets.

So Good!!!

These mallets are some of the best that I've every used. At first it was hard to use them, but once I developed the right touch they were amazing!!!

I love these mallets!

I am a high school student and I personally would recommend using these mallets for a solo on timpani. The bamboo handles feels very light on my hands and it gives me that "punch" when I'm playing with them.

Best
