It's not as easy it looks

I love this book. There's very few exercises in here that can be played correctly the first try, they take a bit of time and effort to get them correctly. They are harder than they look. It doesn't call itself a "rudimental" book - which it is not really as it uses a combinations of sticking patterns , accents, and some rudiments. Not everything is in 4/4 - there is some 3/4 and 6/8 as well. The only complaint I have is that the metronome settings many times were marked as half note equals or dotted half note equals which made me put on my thinking cap to find the equivalent quarter note speed. Overall highly recommended book.

Great book, great service

Fascinating, creative, and fun way to learn and exercise hands and mind. I play this book from start to finish, then start over again. Always pleased at how much better my chops are each time I start anew. Very musical and usable exercises. I love this book!

I had this book back in college (15 years ago) and it was an essential part of my practice routine. I lost it not too long ago and HAD to get another copy! That's how important this book is. Applicable to developing marching chops, drumset chops (get creative and move the patterns around), concert snare finesse, etc this book is essential. The patterns definitely feel for "musical" rather than just working on mindless technical exercises. It doesn't surprise me that it's still around after all these years. It's destined to continue as a classic alongside others such as "Stick Control." Do yourself and your hands a favor and grab this book!!!!!!
