It was not clean nor neat. The cover had indentations and scratches.

The percussion professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (who studied with Mark Ford at East Carolina University) introduced me to this book and WOW!!!!! I'm not saying it's Stevens' "MOM," but it's one of the greatest 4-mallet instructional books I've ever used! Ever! So get it! Do it now! Don't think about it! Just do it!

I love the exercises, but the solos are difficult for a beginning 4 mallet player (myself).

Mark Ford's "Marimba: Technique Through Music" has proven to be an outstanding resource for beginning and intermediate four mallet teaching. Each section covers specific techniques and includes short works that incorporate those techniques. The works are stand alone compositions that may be used for recitals and juries. What a wonderful addition to the marimba pedagogy repertoire!

My daughter's percussion teacher recommended this book. It is full of fun/creative arrangements and helps improve technique. We love it.

There are quite a few good four mallet technique books available. This one does a good job getting to the point and letting the music develop the technique. It is a good book to work on with a good teacher or to accompany the MOM or any of the other technique books currently available.
