Great mallets, but a bit pricey imho.

A good starter mallet for the aspiring middle school or high school student. Sound doesn't cut quite as well when playing in the higher octaves but overall still a good investment.

The core speaks clearly just as described and the balance is pretty good. The handles are really nice and stick just enough to feel stable. The yarn itself adds a little "chiff" to every note, which is very audible. Additionally the wrap angles away sharply from the center of the mallet, so tilting up to change timbre is not terribly effective. It gets three stars from me for the chiff and less-than-ideal timbral control. Overall very good general mallets, however. I use and would recommend them when the the above two issues are not a factor.

Bought 2 pairs for my middle school-er. It's lighter than others she has, so it's easier on her hands. She likes them a lot!

O YEAH!!!!

I've had these mallets for a little over a month or so and I can say I love the way they feel. They are very comfortable and light yet produce such a bright and amazing tone. These mallets can be used on the low octave of a marimba but stand out in the upper octaves. These mallets are great for solo percussionist or concert percussionist.

love these mallets!

They've served me well in a variety of settings (orchestra, band).
