I bought some back in 2016, and they are still going strong! Although they are pricy, they are a perfect all-around mallet. I've brought them to every gig, in both the US and Europe, and they haven't disappointed me. Its strength lies in passages that require both articulate rhythms and smooth rolls, in both forte and piano passages. On a scale of 1-10 (with 1 being a wood mallet and 10 being a large fluffy ball mallet) I would put this mallet at a 4. The carbon fiber shafts allow for lighter feel and are great for smaller venues and orchestras that require lighter playing.

Excellent mallets, just the right sound for forte and piano sections. The feel of carbon fiber handles is perfect to me and the balance is just right.

DH2 is amazing for Beethoven No.9, especially for the iconic 1st movement coda part :) DH2 makes its unique and solid sound for Beethoven pieces.

The felt core allows the a rich sound of drum while having the agility that beethoven and faster etudes require.

I bought these mallets on recommendation, and they are perhaps the best mallets I've used; certainly a new "go-to" choice. Great weight, clear articulation, and wonderful sound. The expense is, without a doubt, worth it.
