Beautiful Composition

This piece is quite a dramatic and emotional piece. The music is beautiful, utilizing the entire range of a 5-octave marimba and featuring sections of varying tempi. However, the quality of the physical music is shoddy. The front cover has typographical errors and uses a low-resolution image in the background. There is also no sticking at all within the music, which could've greatly helped with the learning curve. Finally, the piece is rather expensive. Ultimately though, these issues don't matter when you're performing a brilliant solo, so it is definitely worth it.

Great Quality!

The piece came in the mail very promplty, and I was able to track it the entire time. The music itself was in great condition, with a beautiful cover. 5/5 and two thumbs up! Thank you!

Beautiful piece, strange binding

This piece is gorgeous and I can't wait to start working on it. However, the binding was very odd. The first two pages were stapled into the book and the rest are loose. Very strange and confusing way to bind music, wish that it had been done a little bit better. I also was hoping not to have to pay $35 for it (including shipping)...it's a very popular piece though and I can see why it's priced so. Regardless of these two disappointments, the piece shipped quickly and looks to be just what I was looking for!

One of the most beautiful marimba solos I've heard. Although it may sound easy to play, this solo is musically challenging and tough to find the right sticking at times. Land is a piece capable of bringing out the deep, rich sounds of the marimba as well as evoking tears in your audience.

Great piece, but...

The piece is astonishingly beautiful and I can't wait to start learning it, but I noticed a few oddities. In the very first measure, there are notes written above the range of a 5-octave marimba. This happens several more times throughout the piece, forcing the player to modify the solo a bit. The other strange happening I saw was the way the book was bound. The dedication and the first 2 pages were stapled in like they should be, but the rest of the book was loose. And not in the right order, either. It may have just been my copy, but it was a bit disconcerting. I have since put the pages in the right order, but the "spines" of the loose sheets are facing outwards. Regardless, I still love this solo very much.

Very beautiful piece for marimba. I like it because it draws focus to expression rather than chops. Not easy to play, but very valuable indeed. Also, I received this solo in 3 days after ordering. Very prompt shipping.

This solo is sure to make the audience go crazy, nice sounding modern writing that allows variable techniques. A bit pricey, but hey.

This has got to be my favorite Marimba solo I've played yet. The piece is simply beautiful, but also choppy in some places. Muramatsu shows here that marimba pieces don't always have to stray from the major modes. And the music provides the musician with a lot of freedom to take the solo as they like it, making each performance of Land its own.
