Great feel, just enough flex in the rattan to make dampening on the vibraphone bars easier.

Good price, excellent product

My son is a Junior percussionist in college with a major in Music Education and needed a harder mallet and highly recommended these specifically from this web-site. I searched the web to compare prices and these were by far the most cost-effective. He has used them and said they work perfectly for his application (Marimba if I'm not mistaken).

I ordered a pair of mallets that came to me with uneven sized handles. I contact Steve Weiss music via email and they then contacted the supplier. They kept me informed that they were following up with the supplier and within a couple of weeks the supplier sent me a replacement pair at no charge. I was super impressed that Steve Weiss Music had been so thorough with something that could've easily gone unhandled.

Good enough.

These mallets are pretty good for percussion ensemble parts (could be vibes or the higher register of the marimba). They provide the ability to play soft passages without sacrificing articulation. Up to mezzoforte they are great. However, after that dynamic level they become very incisive. With proper technique, this mallets will do wonders. They are very well suited for solos or accompaniment, as well. Finally, this mallets will last a significant amount of time. Worth the buy.

Great mallets for vibes or multiperc with vibes when articulation on all instruments is needed.

They feel good, sound great from a distance, and really cut through large ensembles (Jazz Ensemble in my case). Plus, you never know what kind of sound you'll need in Wind Symphony--some pieces require a sound that articulate. ...you may want to practice with ear plugs :)

These mallets are very articulate. If used on marimba, they produce an almost xylophone like sound. I only use them on the top 2 octaves of a marimba. Very articulate on vibes too, a very hard sound is produced, with minimal warmth.
