If you are a working percussionist, the Gauger Crash Caddy is a must have. It is a cymbal case and a cymbal stand. You should keep your cymbals in a case when not in use. And you need a cymbal stand to hold them when in rehearsals or performances. This cymbal caddy serves both purposes. No longer do I need to bring along a separate hardware cymbal stand. I just hook the Crash Caddy on a conventional music stand and I'm done. The first one I purchased holds an 18" pair of cymbals. The second one I purchased holds a 20" pair of cymbals. So, "Yes, it will accommodate a 20" pair of cymbals". Highly recommended.
Perfect, if real stands are at the gig.

Let me start by saying that this really does what it promises. You can attach it to a standard music stand and it works fabulously. I just got really unlucky and ended up playing a lot of groups that don't have standard music stands for the percussion section. Strapping this thing to the back of a chair kinda sorta works but not great. It doesn't fit on music stands that have a built in pencil tray. It works on *standard* music stands.
There's one more minor issue which is easily fixed. The outside of the bag has the hook half of the Velcro on it, which can catch and scratch things. I cut some pieces of loop or fuzzy side Velcro and I just stick that on the bag when I don't have the flaps folded over to hold the cymbals on the stand.
Great Idea!

Sincere thanks to Tom Gauger to develop a lightweight cymbal bag that doubles as a cradle for the crash cymbals by clipping the carry straps underneath a metal music stand. For those who need to haul lots of equipment for rehearsals and performances, this innovation saves the need to pack a cymbal cradle. This bag sucurely handles crash cymbals up to 20" in size.
Must Have

If you are a working and traveling concert percussionist who has their own crash cymbals this is a must have item. The bag works very well as a cymbal case to protect your investment. And when you get to the gig all you have to do is grab an extra music stand and it turns into a cymbal holder. I no longer need to pack a cymbal holder in my hardware bag. Very cost effective if you calculate the cost of a cymbal case AND a cymbal holder. I would agree with other reviews that 18" (maybe 19") cymbals are the max size. I own 2 of these - one for a 16" pair and one for an 18" pair. Very glad I purchased this item.
LOVE THIS!

I've used various cymbal stands for orchestra work for many years. However, I just became familiar with this Crash Caddy at a symphony gig last evening. LOVE IT! The thing I like about it is that using the music stand as it's support, it's still very secure and stable, and the footprint is smaller for ideal use in a crowded orchestra pit. I love it so much, I just ordered one from Steve and can't wait to use it on our next production. Just be aware, it will probably work best with cymbals 18"-19" and smaller. I don't think you can get a 20" in there securely.

This bag/caddy is very useful for gigs, as it easily converts from a carrying bag to a cymbal caddy ( need a music stand ). Very satisfied, price is right, and it works great!

This thing is awesome. Every band director needs one. It's intuitive enough my middle school students can figure out how to put it on the music stand and set it up, and it's a great cymbal bag. This is great. Every program needs one of these, especially if you ever pack up and take a trip to play somewhere.
Every school should have one.

Simply put, no school should be without this. It's a fine cymbal caddy that also acts as a cymbal bag. Through out my entire school career we always put the crash cymbals on the floor when not playing them. Then when we were finished with them threw them on a shelf. In a word, they were treated poorly. This cymbal caddy is the remedy for sure. It's not expensive and it serves two purposes without taking up any extra space for storage. To me, this purchase is a no brainer.
A must-have for professionals and schools

This product has been useful for me when I have orchestral gigs. It saves room and secures cymbals very well. I also invested in this product for the current school I am working for and have seen the same great results. I highly recommend this product for its practicality and its durability.
