These are great for beginners. But, in my opinion these do not produce the regular medium marimba tone and are way too hard for small 3 octave padouk practice marimbas. But, great to rely on if one of your professional mallets break. They have the properties similar to that of hard Keiko Abe mallets in terms of slight multitonalness.

These are the best "economy" mallets available from any company. There are 3 hardnesses and the quality is really quite good. The yarn is wool/nylon so they will last and the weight and balance are excellent. The E-10, 20 and 30 would get most percussionists though LOTS of books and repertoire. A BEST BUY in my book.

The Etude series from Salyers offer a well-made mallet, with good rubber cores, nice durable yarn and really great birch shafts. For the price, I don't think you can do better. Start with the E20's then get the 30's and finally the 10's. I really good value for great quality.

Nice mallets for the price. Much better than the ones on hand in the local music stores in our town.

For a student level mallet, the Etude series is excellent! These mallets are durable and lightweight. In my experience they have held up to considerable use in the Middle School Band classroom.

Amazing value.

The E20 mallet is a good general-purpose mallet that speaks well across most of the instrument. The quality you get for the price you pay is great. If you're looking for the best bang for you buck, look no further.

These marimba mallets are great for anything from a quite passage to a loud one, and blend will. Nice and springy, the mallets still give a nice attack despite their soft yarn.
