Very good sticks

I really like the pair I got. They're lightweight, and have good rebound, making loose diddles very easy. But they're also controllable, where you can get tight diddles in just as easy.

These sticks are a great all around marching stick. The MAS1 could be compared most easily to Hardimons. I personally prefer no paint or lacquer on my sticks and this has delivered with a good smooth finish and solid build. Mine came in pitch matched, and the butt of the stick is flag and rounded off (much like most innovative percussion sticks). The bead produces a full sound ranging at all dynamics with a medium taper that allows for pressing into the drum for diddles at higher tempos. My final conclusion, would recommend as all around medium marching stick.
The barrel tip provides great articulation combined with a long taper which allows for rebound with excellent feel throughout the stick. Excellent care put out in delivering and making this stick, not to mention pitch paired.
These are incredible marching snare sticks with a nice full sound and a great weight distribution!
These sticks are well balanced with enough "beef" to project/cut through the largest of tutti donut (loud) moments! I am a band director that teaches at a school that has a pretty stout band when it comes to playing and these sticks are a tremendous help with balancing. I am going to order extra sticks for the tenors next year to try it with them. Give them a shot!!!
I use these for my tenor and snare players, and they have all the markings of a good marching stick: durable, resilient, and easy to play with. The shaft provides great consistency with shots, and the bead really moves well on the head. Well worth it!
The MAS1 is a solid, durable stick. The weight is just right: not too heavy, yet not too light. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed!
I'd definitely like some input from someone who buys larger quantities of this mallet to be here, since these are aside from the good pitch pairing better sticks than the System Blues. I say this with more confidence because I HAVE played with both for not too extended periods of time (again, I hope for someone who uses these sticks with a drumline to review these). To me these have as full a sound as System Blues, but the taper does indeed make playing with these heavy hickory sticks less difficult. Not effortless, but easy, definitely. All in all I highly recommend them to students "trying these out" if you have enough money to.
this is a nice beefy, well balanced stick. very similar to the Vic Firth MS5. my only issue was that the tips on the pair I received were very inconsistent...almost like bits had been chipped off. maybe the wood is not hard enough or not treated properly before it's turned.
These sticks are great! Perfect balance. Very nice rebound and not too beefy. A great all around stick for any application!
