Great all-around stick. My number one favorite for a long time. The only two improvements on it have been the American Sound 5A, and the Dave Weckl Evolution stick, both of which have a slightly livelier rebound feel without sacrificing beefiness. With these, plus the AJ1 and AJ6 for lighter cymbal sounds, you are set for anything. Oh yeah - and Tala Wands and Heritage Brushes. I hope Vic Firth keeps the design of all these models the same for a long time to come...

The first pair of these I purchased were two different weights, therefore two different pitches. Coming from Vic Firth, I really expected "The Perfect Pair." However, I emailed VF and they sent me a new perfectly matched pair for free. When they're the same weight, these sticks are EXCELLENT for every style you want to play, not just the ones in the description. A must-have for every drummer.

Perfect all-around stick, not just for jazz like it says, but also light rock, country, and some pop.
