I started using AJ6's for over 20 years. 20 years ago each stick weighed around 40 grams. The weight has increased over the years but I still have several pair at around 42 grams. A few years ago they were all weighing over 45 grams. I just received 4 pair and every stick now weighs over 50 grams. Why?

The tiny bead creates a beautiful controlled ping cymbal sound The shaft is meaty enough for good hand control, back beats, rim shots, rim click etc

I have a hard time finding these sticks, so have been ordering them online, instead of trying them out at local music stores. Steve Weiss Music was the first business to have sent sticks of my liking.

Perfect for trio playing

These sticks are great for lighter trio work, especially laid back or cool jazz. The sticks are light and allow for a great deal of dynamic control, but still have a nice bounce to them.

Nice Sounding Stick

The stick had a great sound on the cymbals and made it easy to control the volume. I played one trio gig with these and they were an excellent companion to my brushes. I played a harder bop gig, and they broke around song 4, so I'd keep these for the lighter slower songs.

well balanced

These are even better than expected, the large shaft let's me cross stick with volume and and the small head let's me balance that on the snare. I feel a lot of control volume wise with these sticks. However not the best for low tom use. But they make cymbals sound right.

Great for low volume playing!

I absolutely love this stick! I first checked them out for a steady church gig that called for light playing. It has now went from a light option to my "go to" all around stick. The cymbal sound these sticks invoke are simply beautiful; a rich focused ride sound and a very tight hi hat sound. Despite the small tip this stick can still get any tom or snare to produce a full sound as the shaft is still a 7A thickness. This is a wonderful thin light stick especially for quiet gigs but still great for the studio or even up to a mid volume gig.
