Stanton Moore. Good choice. Very close to a 5A, but just about a quarter inch longer. Bead is more pointed, so it can give both a heavy or lighter sound when needed. Plus, the pointed tip provides a great rebound when playing some tight buzz stroke roll patterns, so great for that New Orleans sound. I can see Jazz/Fusion types diggin' these sticks.
This is my main drum stick. I really like the balance and feel. The bead give me a nice cymbal sound.
Just got the sticks the other day but I really like them. They have a great balance, and nice attack on both cymbals and drums. Ride and hi-hat attack is crisp and articulate. I've performed with them once and they really offered a good sound with the band. They just might be my new "go to" stick! I only gave it a 4/5 because I'm not sure I've had them long enough to give them a 5. But if I continue to like them then they really should be a 5/5
As the description says, these create a great cymbal sound. They are light but not extremely so and can create a very full sound. I've tried these on some really washy cymbals and the stick sound was much clearer. I would definitely recommend these to anyone playing jazz, fusion, Latin, etc.
By far my favorite drum set stick, from any company. I've played with Steve Gadd's, David Weckles, 5A's, 5B's, Todd Suchermanns, and many more; and I'll tell you that none of them are even close to this stick. Being a student, it is important for me to have a stick that can be played in any style, and feel comfortable; and this is the stick to do just that!
These feel fantastic!!!!!! They are thick and full with a light or heavy touch. They are great for funk, fusion, jazz, and so much more!!!!!
