VERY reasonably priced. Great sound. I used a white plastic bell mallet, not the included strikers. (They weren't loud enough) Like the included stand and case. Recommend highly

This is a reasonably priced anvil with a tremendous sound! It is metallic and high-pitched. It is so much better than using a brake drum yet not as expensive as all the other types of anvils that are available.
I wish the stand allowed the anvil to lay flat. But, other than that, I like it. It has a pretty nice sound, and gets the job done--and is waaaaaay less expensive than the other anvils on the market.
The Weiss Anvil really does check every box: affordable, sturdy, light, clean, easy stand, multiple beaters, sounds great, gets LOUD, and has a carrying case. My school owns multiple and they are well worth it. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. The only complaint I have is that it does not come with two of the same-sized beaters, only one of each. Other than that, it is such a fantastic deal. DO IT!
Compact and light weight this 'instrument' STILL produces a fair bit of sound. No more having to use the inside bell of a cymbal! The only drawback is, there's only one pitch.
Pun Intended - ' BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK " - I can't believe how PURE the quality if the sound is on this little jewel.
I ordered this small orchestral anvil and it arrived very quickly and in perfect condition. Variety of sound options with the convenient 4 strikers included. Sounds great!
I used the Weiss anvil on a recent production of Into The Woods, and I was very happy with the sound, size, and portability of this product. If it were rack mountable, it would be perfect.
We have a large German Band, Ein Prosit, and recently purchased the Feuerfest Polka by Strauss. We needed an instrument for the anvil part but needed something compact and lightweight. (We already have SO MUCH STUFF to bring to every gig.) This instrument is perfect and I'm amazed at the sound - loud and clear!
Great sounding anvil!! Also, when I told them I needed it for a show the following week they made sure it went out that day AND sent it 2 Day Priority Mail. Thank you!!!!
I had my worries about such a small piece of metal with, basically, triangle beaters taking the place of brake drums and a ball-pein hammer but I worried for nothing. This has a loud, piercing sound that may not be quite as raucous as brake drums but certainly comes very, very close. It also has the added convenience of being easily portable - the fairly sturdy cloth case (provided) holds the anvil, the beaters and the stand and is about as large as a soprano recorder case. Heartily endorsed!
Excellent sound for a very reasonable price. The sound of the anvil easily and clearly cuts through my 90 piece middle school band. Very happy with the purchase.
Stand and beaters fit inside of it for compact transport. With the cost of this you really can't go wrong.
This Anvil is exactly what I need for the Beatle band I play with... to be used on "Maxwell's Solver Hammer" the sound is PERFECT!! Excellent product, excellent product. I recommend IT !
Great buy. It is very resonant, comes with four beaters (of different sizes) good leather case and stand. All of the parts fit in to the "anvil" for ease of storage. I'm quite happy with my purchase, as it is easily more resonant than modern brake drums and has great projection.
The Weiss Anvil is outstanding. It works great, sounds great, and really cuts through the music. It is a fantastic sound effect and just what I needed. Thanks Weiss Music, you're the best!
This anvil has great tone & sustain. The stand & beaters fit nicely inside when storing in the case.
Just as other reviewers have said, this instrument sounds great, and that is before looking at the extremely affordable price. If you need anvil or brake drum sounds, especially that are portable, this is for you. If only this existed when I was lugging an 80lb anvil across Australia and New Zealand in 1991!!
This was the first authentic musical anvil I ever used and I was so satisfied with the sound. Throughout college, we always used break drums but I think that this sounds much better. Definitely much cheaper (and lighter) than an actual blacksmith's anvil.
This anvil sound is better then a brake drum and a hammer and a lot lighter. This is the way to go. Just wish Weiss would bring back the old metal beater from the 70's.
Although not polished chrome as others I'd seen, the sound is excellent. It makes a great substitute for either an anvil or a brake drum. Much easier to haul around, too.
When I was tasked with playing not one, but two songs that called for an anvil song in our church, obviously I wanted something that sounded authentic, didn't weigh TOO much, and also didn't COST too much. This anvil fits the bill on all counts! There are a variety of sounds that I can get from the anvil, and a variety of volumes with four different beaters. And because it's not a 100 lb anvil, I can put it on a standard trap table, a music stand, a wooden stool, whatever. And no hernias! I had to play the anvil in High School and we used an actual anvil. Great price, too. All in all I consider it a great instrument at a great price, and a great value.
I tell you what this is a great item for us drummer percussion girls whom don't want to carry large and HEAVY break drums!!!!! It is nice and light weight and makes a wonderful big sound!!!!! You should charge more for........I would have paid more for it!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!! Gretchen
