Fine For The Cost

For $15 Its hard to have any complaints. Doesn't perform like a $200 dollar tambourine, but its certainly functional and sounds leagues better than any instruments in its price range. The Weiss tambourines are a little quieter which is nice for practicing at home. They are also very articulate, which has its own benefits. While not my go-to tambourine, its definitely worth adding to your toolbox to expand your available color pallet.
Good for everything other than a tambourine

I'll just say it, it doesn't sound good. That being said, this works great for everything other than that. This is a great practice instrument. It works very well for practicing tambourine since it is so light. It is also easily customizable if you'd like to change the jingles. I actually completely removed the jingles on this and used it as a practice instrument to focus on rhythms.
If you want a great sounding tambourine, buy something else.
If you want a great practice tambourine, buy this.

My tambourine sounds and looks great. It is entirely everything I wanted. Your service was prompt, courteous and utterly reliable. I'm entirely impressed with the whole operation.

VERY cheaply made, but also very cheaply bought. I was hoping for something of slightly better quality for a "Weiss" brand instrument, since I trust Steve Weiss with so many of my percussion needs. Instead, it's a very cheap instrument. It will serve it's purpose in a public school setting, but I would not buy one for my own use.
Great Purchase!

This is definitely worth buying! It sounds great! I haven't had it that long, but it looks like it should last for a long time. You may want to measure how big 10" is however, it was a little bigger than I expected.

Why would a tambourine only last 6 months or less? Is it the head that broke? How does your son use it? If playing with drumsticks, it'd be cheaper to buy a drumset tambourine once. If playing in a "concert" style, or in a Gospel situation, the instrument should last much longer. So either the heads are really poor quality, or someone needs to learn how to take care of calf heads, and develop tambourine technique. That said, it may be cheaper to have a better head mounted than to keep buying new tambourines twice a year. I certainly wouldn't recommend encouraging the sale of a poor quality product by buying more - IF that is the issue.

I have ordered twice because my son loves the tambourine. When we ordered the first one it lasted about 6 months, which was very good for him. But when we received the second ordered the tambourine didn't last quite as long. I know they do last forever but I was hoping to get another 6 months again or longer. But I will reordered because this has been the best price and I have bought tambourines for several years from several different places and these have been the best by far.
