I listened to many different clap stacks on line. When I came upon the Steve Weiss small clap stack , I felt it had the sound I wanted. I took the chance and ordered it knowing that Steve Weiss specializes in percussion. Fast delivery! I set it up immediately. It’s just perfect! I much rather hit a clap stack than an electronic pad any day. Great price too!
After some comparisons I came down to this, and it did not disappoint me. The sound is incredible. I went to stores and test other brands, and none of them stack up to this one for the price point. The only drawback is the look, I wish they had put some logo on the cymbals.
Cheap, yes. But next to a Kasza, same price point, not even close in terms of sound quality and application. The Weiss stack is unfortunately thin, floppy, doesn't cut, and isn't terribly enjoyable to play. Would not purchase again, get the Kasza stack if you are looking budget line.
This is a great effect to add to my kit! Very pleased with the tone and price!
I picked this up a few months ago to add to my wedding gig set up and I'm getting compliments from band members on every single gig. This is an easy way to get a great clap sound into dance and pop music without needing to incorporate electronics into your setup!
Wow this clap stack sounds incredible, especially for the money. And the small stack 8"-10"-12" is the perfect size for me as I can put it in-between my snare drum and hi-hats with no issues.

Enjoying the small Weiss Clap Stack. I don't have anything to compare it to but it sounds pretty much like the more expensive options and I spend WAY less to have something I can experiment with. It adds a good deal of interest to patterns and integrates nicely with other acoustic sounds -- doesn't stick out like sounds produced electronically. If you are on the fence about this, I'd go ahead and purchase. Thanks to Steve Weiss Music for providing a quality option that's affordable.
I play drums in multiple bands, but my main gig is with the socially driven hip hop group Gunpoets. I've had my eye on clap stacks for a while now, and I was elated when I finally got my hands on these from Steve Weiss Music. Once they arrived, I was blown away--not only do they sound better than their competitors, but they cut through the mix in a way that's both musical and powerful. As someone who plays live hip hop and needs quality gear that doesn't break the bank, these cymbals hit the sweet spot. This stack is worth significantly more than it is priced. Sounds fantastic. Exactly what I was looking for.
I was skeptical because there aren't a lot of demo videos available for this brand and because of their size relative to Istanbul, Meinl, etc., but these sound great! I tried them first in isolation, i.e., in the living room on stand without the rest of the set -- I just pulled them out of the box and threw them on a new stand so I could hear them right away (I was busy and didn't quite have time to put them on the set and test.) They sounded cool, but it wasn't enough to really know. Then, I put them on the set -- sweet! These are the only clap cymbals I have ever played or even heard outside of a youtube video, so I can't really compare, but I do know that these sound exactly the way I expect a clap effect to sound. I LOVE that they are so small in comparison to other offerings, but I *really* love the price. I would buy these again in a heart beat, and probably will purchase a second set to leave on the church kit.
Use this at a weekend gig with the band for the Taylor Swift song Blank space. Great sound at a great price. Perfect combo platter.
These are a lot of fun and also can be used individually on drum heads.
