After using this key for almost three years, I've never had a problem with it. It's a great build and works great, all for under $8

Just what you need - no more no less. Excellent key.
Other reviewers have stated how fantastic this product is, and I just want to reiterate that. Most timpani keys (like Ludwig and Pearl models) are $25+. This key was $7.95 when I purchased it, and functions just as well as any of the other keys, if not having the shiny "philharmonic" look of the other ones. In a nutshell? There is not a single reason in the world to buy any other key.
I've always been confused as to why timpani keys are so expensive. I bought one of these a while back from another retailer and it has worked great, but now seeing the price on Steve Weiss, I wish I would have waited. The best reasonably priced key on the market!
It works, the timpani are in tune, it's inexpensive, and seems sturdy enough. The kind of thing an orchestral percussionist should have somewhere in his gig bag.
Great tool. Solid. Great Price.
I got this so I could give some TLC to an abused drum at my university, unsure of the brand or model of the drum but knowing that it had square pegs. Works like a charm with most square models, I would guess.
No, even if you are a professional you don't need a 20 dollar timpani key. I have used this key and I have used a similar one that sells for about 20 dollars made by Ludwig. Surprise surprise, they work exactly the same. Why buy any other timpani key?
Works just as well as the higher priced brand. Highly recommended.
Works for just what it is needed for, and for an outstanding price!
