Aukofer-Five Hymn Tunes (SP-4)-B/V/M

This collection of works for keyboard percussion is designed to create quartet literature that would work in both "concert" setting as well as "church" settings (weddings, holidays, funerals, etc.). These work are ideal for a percussion quartet that wants to perform high quality works without having to move the whole room full of percussion instruments. The entire collection can be performed with one low-E marimba, vibraphone, and bells.

Michael Aukofer recently completed his academic training in music through the doctoral level with honors. Michael spends the majority of his time now composing, teaching, producing and recording music, as well as working on the completion of his dissertation for the DMA (Doctorate in Musical Arts) from the University of Kentucky titled "Behind the Kit". Many of Michael's original compositions have gained international attention in the past few years through publications in 2004-2006 by Mallet Works Publications, Drop 6 Publications, and C. Alan Publications.
