Yamaha has THE BEST hardware! This boom arm goes on the 3rd hole of the bass drum tom mount ahd holds my splash cymbal. I finally bought from Steve Weiss because they had FREE shipping during Christmas. Their prices are great BUT their shipping charges make them non competitive to other on line stores
solid but not as good as they used to be

Everything works great, EXCEPT, the clamp that holds the slider comes loose after awhile, so you are forced to use the memory lock to keep your cymbal from slipping. Definitely not as good as older yamaha hardware, but still better than most...

I own 4 of these and love them. They're all on my rack. Three hold crashes (2 16" and one 18") and the 4th holds my 20" ride. Just because they're short doesn't mean they aren't strong and stable on a rack! It comes with an extra tube if you need to make the height of the tube longer, but I did not use this.
Solid, functional cymbal arm

Yamaha's hardware is virtually bulletproof. The fact that they integrated a cymbal arm receiver into the tom arm bracket on the bass drum makes it very convenient. This allows you to put a pretty serious cymbal in the area over the toms without having to use an entire other cymbal stand (which would have to be fully extended to be functional) or rely on a flimsy arm attachment on another cymbal stand.
My only complaint is that the wing nut on the cymbal arm buzzes/vibrates with each kick drum note.
