Composer David Stock served as professor of composition and conductor of the Contemporary Ensemble at Duquesne University. This powerful work for solo timpani and wind symphony was commissioned by Duquesne University for Stanley Leonard. Written in 3 movements, this piece really shows of the dynamic and timbral range of the timpani and the soloist's ability to manipulate these as such.
