Description
Russell Peck's Lift Off is written for 3 percussionists playing 9 drums. Each performer plays 3 drums: one low bass drum, one medium drum, one high drum. The tuning of each drum should be distinctive, while retaining the overall 3 layers of sound (Low, Medium, High). Lift Off was premieried at the University of Michigan in 1966.
