This was purchased as a practice instrument for my high schooler, who is very enthusiastic about his percussion studies, but not necessarily making a life-long commitment to it. This xylophone hit the sweet spot for expanding his practicing capabilities without breaking the bank. Based on our price point, this is the model recommended by this teacher, and we're happy with it.

I use to watch my uncle play the xylophone 60 years ago when I was five years old. I never learned to play but I remember every time he left his xylophone I tried to play it. That feeling has never left me so I finally decided to buy me one and learn to play myself. I love my new xylophone. I will be playing songs soon.

This instrument was ordered for a community band. We were looking for a portable, full-sized xylophone. This seems to be a good fit for our organization. This will be our first season to have this instrument in our percussion section.

I bought this because I'm a gigging percussionist and I got tired of lugging my full size xylophone all over town. Sometimes a small, simple instrument will get the job done. For those instances, this instrument works well. The only thing about it that I don't care for is that the low range has a lot of high overtones and not a lot of fundamental, but after all, most pit xylophones only go down to C. The box resonator system wasn't really designed to handle notes lower than that, but on this instrument they are at least there if you absolutely need them.
If you are a gigging percussionist that doesn't own a xylophone yet, get this one to tide you over until you can find a good deal on a "real" xylophone. It is adequate for most professional situations, and more than adequate if you are a student looking for a practice instrument.
