The DeMorrow 5 Octave Padouk Practice Marimba features a bar set designed to deliver a proper sound and feel without resonators. Even though the dynamic range is less than that of a performance instrument, this Practice Marimba draws attention to player skill sets like balance between hands, balance of chords, direction of musical line, control of striking area, and rate of speed of the mallet off of the bar. The instrument comes complete with a height adjustable frame.

We bought this for our son in middle school so we've had ours for about 3 years. Great investment! Well built and still looks like new. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a 5 octave marimba for practice, this is THE BEST option. Note: Order the custom cover to protect when not in use.

Great packaging. Simple construction, truly rattle-free. Tuning is stellar. Good for a shared living space or apartment, but can still be played loudly if desired. Sounds great in an empty reflective room and is a very effective instrument for practicing at home.

Great choice for students and college programs

We have this exact instrument at our university. The frame is the M4 frame and is built like a Mack Truck, easy and exact height adjustment, high quality casters that really LOCK, rotation and swivel. The red oak is beatitful with a satin finish. The keyboard is great for whatit is there for, practice and honing your technical skills. In fact, I maintain it is as good as many rosewood marimbas that cost 3-4 times as much. This is an excellent invenstment.
