Written for two percussionists, the piece is scored for six Chinese cymbals (three for each player) laid upside down on a soft surface, or ideally, on pieces of foam rubber. Each player also needs one triangle and a metal beater. The recommended sizes for the Chinese cymbals are 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 18 inches.
