Description
Elusive One! by Steve Pemberton for percussion quintet. This piece is a four and a half minute exploration into the subtleties of the sounds of both metal (Triangle, finger cymbals) and wood (hi/low claves, castanets). Each percussion part is equally important, but the piece is grounded by the introductory theme, which is then repeated toward the end of the piece. Even though the whole piece is written and conducted in four, you will hear the mesmerizing interplay of many different time feels throughout the piece.
