Description

The Grover Pro Percussion Spanish Tambourine is also called the Gypsy or the Basque Tambourine. One of the defining qualities of this single row tambourine is the hand crimped or fluted jingles. The overall sonority of this instrument will be folk-like. This will be a bit more gritty that the modern orchestral tambourines.

The Solid ash shell of the instrument has been designed to have channels that has the jingles in groups of four. This is different to the single jingle channels of the orchestral tambourines. The natural head in combination with this shell and the 24 jingles will create a focused sound that dampens quickly and will be easy to perform hand rolls.

This tambourine does sound great and the head did not bust on me. However, The wood Split!!!! I'd say this tambourine is not for being used in a black church especially (unless it's a slow song or you are shaking it) other than that don't use this on any praise breaks or songs that are fast and in the pocket. I gave it a 3 because the head didn't bust and because it's a single row and It's still louder than a remo!!!!!! Will definitely buy some more orchestral Tambourines to see if they are up to standard for the Sanctified Church Setting
