Packs a punch

I picked these up after a recommendation from a fellow percussionist. They feel fantastic and get a great sound out of the drums. They're heavier than I initially expected (large wood core, I'm guessing) but surprisingly the weight has never ended up in a crushed or harsh sound...quite the opposite! They free your hands to relax and get the drums to sing. I used them for some maslanka passages; they would easily work well for passages where rolling is required with a nice phat, lush sound. Not quite legato rollers but the bamboo makes them very versatile. I haven't tried the other mallets in the American series but, these are a safe bet.
