Used them for Handel Messiah Chorus at an Easter service Sunday and they were perfect for the big booming room. I could get both sweetness and thunder out of them.
The JGpercussion Classic Timpani Mallets were designed in collaboration with master-craftsman Glenn F. Smith. These hickory shafts are hand-turned for perfect balance and great feel. Each pair is sewn by hand with the highest quality materials. The CL8 “Warm Baroque” is made from Chamois leather over a rounded cork core for articulation without a harsh sound. These are great for Handel’s Messiah or Mozart and Haydn.

I just used these mallets for a performance of Haydn's Creation. I played on remo renaissance heads and the sound was perfect for the piece. I used them for every movement but one which required a full sounding roll. They articulate well and yet they are not too harsh. I highly recommend them for this kind of piece.
Nicely crafted! Good materials. I'm sure I'll use these for a long time!
These are great sticks. They are significantly lighter than any hickory I've played previously, which helps for quicker passages. The chamois is durable and well bound, so no need to worry about the build quality. These sticks are incredibly articulate without being overly ticky. Unlike most leather sticks, they really let the drum sing instead of just producing a contact sound. They sound full on calf and plastic, and are a great buy.
