Great Sound, Iffy Construction

I want to start by saying that the sound of these mallets is wonderful! I use them in orchestral, chamber, and solo settings. Their feel is great. They have a nice shaft length and weight distribution for me! I'm not sure I am a fan of the grips just yet, but I haven't had any problems with them. The biggest issue I've ran into is in their construction. The mallet head is a set of fabric circles sandwiched together and held tight by threading plastic nuts. The nuts like to work themselves loose as you play, and they do this pretty damn fast. I find myself tightening them 1-2 time per rehearsal. Last rehearsal I didn't get to tightening them in time and one of them flew apart mid-rehearsal. It's been a nightmare to trying to get the fabric layered back in their correct order. I have other threading mallet heads and I don't seem to have this issue with them. I'm not sure how I'd fix it just yet. I've only owned them for 1 year and they aren't daily drivers for me. I'm hoping the problem is just with my pair, but I won't be purchasing this design in the future.
