This is very good quality and sound. Almost an instrument by itself! Very small and sleek design. I would recommend any Middle schooler percussionist who is in a performing band to get this highly useful tuner.

Several students of mine have been disappointed recently with an inconsistent product. Some pitches are flat out inaccurate (we checked with a tuner) and some of the tone holes are difficult to blow air through them. Cannot say what you will experience, but I would be prepared to return this product.
thanks for this product, it is very helpful

I own one but do not use it. I recommend a tuning fork instead of purchising one of these. A tuning fork at A=440 is my recomendation. A pitch pipe simply turns into a crutch that is hard to break. They also go out of tune of a period of time because the little pieces of metal inside bend (even if ever so slight). However nobody likes to hear a pitch pipe in the middle of a concert. A tuning fork can only be heard when struck and placed in the ear by only that person. The only reason I would purchase a pitch pipe is if the band director requires it.
