The Ludwig Classic Maple Fab 3 Piece Drum Set shell pack got its name because it is a modern version of the classic kit Beatles drummer Ringo Star performed and recorded with. Over the Decades Ludwig has continued to refine this iconic sounding kit while adhering to high standards of craftsmanship.

The Classic Maple Series features 7-ply 6mm cross laminated North American Maple shells. Cross lamination is where the inner 3 plies are molded in a horizontal/vertical/horizontal pattern. This adds strength while maintaining sensitivity and a wide dynamic tuning range. 45 degree bearing edges are cut to within 1/16th of an inch of the outside edge. This provides a smooth flat surface for seating of the drum head contributing to the classic Ludwig sound.
