These are my second pair as I wore out my first pair the last 20 years. I have used them for exposed xylophone parts that cut through the concert band without sounding too bright. They are perfect standard bell mallets as well. If you are looking for just one pair of mallets for your band, get these! I would get two pairs, one for xylophone and one for bells.
Hard and loud mallets. Good for marching band, which is what I used them for. However, while playing an excerpt on the Crotales, one mallet split in two pieces. (the mallet head) Also, the writing inscription wears of VERY easily. But other than that, very good mallets.
