I've had this bag for 5 semesters (and counting) of my collegiate career. Yes, for the price there is better; however I find the pockets on the front to be convenient for music, studies, misc. percussive accessories (i.e. towels). The quality of the bag is nice, yet flimsy. It offers minimal protection if you drop your bag, but the nylon interior keeps the mallets from fraying better than most other bags on the market, although, there are places where the nylon is torn along the edges (due to self-inflicted stupidity). If I were to go back I would probably choose a different bag, but I wanted a bag to match my Marimba One mallets. DO NOT get the bag if you are an actively touring percussionist, despite the premium price, you are not getting a premium quality product that will withstand constant abuse. This bag is fantastic for an organized student, but that is where the line is drawn. --Side notes: This bag has pockets for a tuning fork/pitch pipe, timpani/drum key, pencil holder, and an I.D. card. Also, I find the backpack straps useful whenever I don't have a backpack on. The zipper is high quality and you won't have to worry about breaking it. **Mamimba One can improve on this product by adding more padding/thicker material for structural integrity and a better stitching pattern for attaching the nylon inside or a thicker nylon be used in its place.
