Round Sound Birch Marimba mallets

I really like the feel and impact sound of the mallets. However, I am disappointed that of the four mallets I received one had a noticeably different (harder) impact sound. I like the other three mallets so well that I will probably order another pair to see if I can get a matched set of four. I have found this problem with other brands of mallets too. Order 2 pairs of mallets does not always result in having a matched set of four.
