So much fun to learn, Casey knows exactly how to write a piece that while being quite mind-bending and technical (2 measures rarely share the same time signature and every theme is immediately varied as soon as it would have become familiar), retains the beauty and coolness that have come to be expected from his work. Plain and simple, playing his pieces will make you a better player, and what you learn along the way is as exciting (if not, more) as what anyone else in the percussion world is doing right now.
