The Drummer's Cookbook by John Pickering covers several aspects of Rock drumming and rhythmic improvisation behind the drum kit in hopes of guiding drummers to develop their own unique voice within the genre. There are plenty of patterns that can be used to develop coordination, phrasing, soloing and more. Instructions for accessing accompanying audio tracks are printed at the bottom of the Preface page in the book.

There can be no right or wrong ways to play. Everything must be reduced to the individual level. There should be very few general rules. If something works for an individual, then for that particular drummer it is right. If something works for you, do it!"
