Crawford-Ghost River-M - Product Information
Ghost River for solo marimba by Stephen Crawford was inspired by a dried-up riverbed, resulting from the deadly drought in Central Texas during the summer of 2000. Written in an ABA form, the opening section depicts the flow of the river, from small droplets, to a flowing, active river. The middle chorale section is a lamentation over the death of the river. The ending section looks forward to the river coming back to life, flowing with water once again. Intermediate level, four-mallet solo, great for recitals or contests.
